This London Lidl store has been in operation for over 15 years. Its outdated lighting system had led to declining performance and escalating maintenance costs. This upgrade aimed to enhance lighting quality while reducing maintenance expenses.

II. Solution and Implementation
Solution Summary
We provided Lidl’s London stores with a plug-and-play, wiring-free LED retrofit solution using factory-preconfigured batten light fixtures specifically designed for supermarkets. This solution focuses on rapid, non-disruptive replacement (no changes to existing circuit layouts required), predictable commissioning processes, and low lifecycle costs. Key features: Pre-configured V-series light fixtures, series wiring to minimize on-site cabling, sensor-controlled zone dimming (for low-traffic periods), and integrated emergency/self-test functions to meet safety standards. This solution ensures uninterrupted store operations during installation while reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements.

V Series Wraparound/Linear Supermarket Light Fixtures (available in 2-foot, 4-foot, 5-foot; 6-foot, 8-foot, and longer full-aisle configurations).
- Luminous Performance: Luminous efficacy 120-150 lm/W; beam angle 120°; color rendering index meets retail application requirements.
- Mechanical & Electrical: Steel-aluminum composite housing; split power supply for easy maintenance; large-size terminal blocks enable rapid wiring; tool-friendly access channels; series connection for continuous lighting.
- Emergency & Control: Equipped with emergency backup power and self-diagnostic function; optional sensor dimming and interlock control versions for multi-zone dimming strategies.
- Certification & Warranty: Complies with CE, RoHS, SAA, and other certification standards; rated lifespan L70 @ Ta25°C = 54,000 hours; standard warranty provided.
Key Implementation Steps:
- Compared to traditional light fixtures, the number of wiring ports for end-to-end connectable light fixtures is significantly reduced by 80%. Each corridor area requires only a single power connection!
- Since the power cord runs directly through the light fixture body, no additional conduit installation is required, reducing the overall installation workload by half when upgrading or replacing the light fixture.
